Conclusion

Sizing

- The Abena Abri Form Air Plus Premium Briefs M4 are the widest medium sized adult diaper tested. Recently these briefs were renamed to Abri-Form Premium and we did not detect any updates to the construction of the diapers. Although they are the widest tested they are still within 5 percent of the average medium adult diaper. When compared to the plastic backed Abena Abri Form M4 tested earlier this year we found this brief to be slightly wider around the waist and longer front to back. So making the transition from the plastic backed version of these diapers to the Air Plus should not be a problem. One measurement that stood out was the measurement between the lower fastening tab to the leg cutout. This is the smallest distance ever measured when compared to other briefs and will allow the user to more securely fit the diaper around their leg. This will lead to a better fit and could stop leaks from occurring.

Construction

- These diapers are the breathable version of the Abri Form M4. They feature soft outer breathable construction with two yellow wetness indicators that run down the middle of the brief that turn blue when wet. The diaper has 4 fastening tabs with a Velcro like texture that fastens anywhere to the diaper. These tabs allow a user to refasten the brief many times and obtain a perfect fit. The inner construction is very soft to the touch and has very tall leg gathers to avoid leaks. One thing to note is the thickness of these diapers as they are the thickest diapers tested to date. They even thicker then the M4’s tested by are one millimeter. One benefit of this thickness is the feeling of security knowing that this brief will not leak but a drawback is knowing that this is a very thick diaper that may be noticeable if tight clothing is worn. Although theses diapers are very thick they are not as stiff compared to other brands.

Noise

- These diapers are quieter then the M4 briefs that have been around for many years. They have a very slight rustle noise to them but it would be very hard to hear them, even in a quiet room.

Absorbency

- These briefs are one of the most absorbent incontinence products widely available on the market today. This is really no surprise as all Abena products in the “level 4” absorbency mark are extremely absorbent.

Price

- The Abena Air Plus Premium Briefs are not the cheapest diapers on the market at $1.75 per brief, BUT they are extremely absorbent, breathable, and offer a high build quality that is worth the additional cost when compared to other adult diapers on the market. Over time they will save a user money as they require less frequent changing, due to the breathability and absorbency.
