How We Measure Thickness

We measure the thickness of each brief using a digital thickness gauge. This gauge is accurate to 100th of a millimeter so we gather very detailed information. To avoid measurement errors, we take 2x2 inch samples from the front, middle, and rear of each diaper. We then measure the sample in several places for accuracy and repeat the test four times. The results are averaged and published here on the website.

How We Measure Absorbency

We measure total absorbency and absorbency per inch. To measure total absorbency we first measure the weight of the diaper dry. We then saturate the brief and compress it to simulate the body weight of a user wearing the brief. It is then weighed and we calculate the difference. We do this four times and then publish the average result.

We also measure absorbency per inch. This is done to show effective absorbency in the front, middle and rear of each diaper as they commonly have different levels of absorption in these areas.

We measure absorbency per inch by cutting a 2 inch by 2 inch square and weighing it. We then saturate it until it can no longer hold fluid. We then weigh it again and subtract the dry weight. With that number we divide by 4 (since we have a 2x2 square = 4 square inches) and then repeat this process four times and publish the average result.

How We Measure Size

We measure size by stretching out each adult diaper and then pin it down flat. This allows us to take accurate readings of each brief. We measure every aspect of each diaper so that you have an idea of what your purchasing before you purchase it.

If the product has an elastic banding at the waist such as adult underwear then two measurements are taken to show the range that the product can comfortably stretch.

We use a digital caliper to determine other measurments such as stickey tab lengths.
